Abstract

380,910. Winches. CLARE, E., 9, Seymour Road, Hampton Wick, Middlesex, and CLARE, E., 13, Cavendish Road, New Malden, Surrey. Aug. 18, 1931, No. 23203. [Class 78 (v).] In coiling gear the reversal of the direction of travel of the rope guides l is effected by a bevel gear d which is provided with teeth on one half of its circumference. The gear d is driven from the shaft of the drum a through reduction gearing, and meshes with bevel gears f, f<1> keyed to the shaft h which is threaded for a portion of its length and engages a nut k forming part of a carriage supporting the guides l.
