Abstract

Laying or guiding ropes on or off during winding or unwinding.-A guide pulley mounted on a driven eccentric is used to lay a rope on to a drum. The illustrated form shows the application to a rope haulage engine in which the winding drum b is arranged coaxially with the road wheels a. The guide pulley e is mounted on an eccentric driven by bevel gear d from the shaft c which is driven from the winding drum through a worm wheel c<1> gearing with a face worm b<1> comprising a number of laterally-projecting teeth arranged in involute curves.
