Abstract
370,608. Photo-mechanical printing- surfaces. BEKK & KAULEN CHEMISCHE FABRIK GES., 102, Hindenburgdamm, Lichterfelde, Berlin. March 13, 1931, No. 7788. Convention date, March 17, 1930. [Class 98 (ii).] In the production of etched aluminium plates, and in order to facilitate removal of the photo-resist layer subsequent to etching, the plates are preliminarily treated before sensitizing, with a solution of an acid-free salt of a trivalent metal, e.g. sulphates of aluminium, chromium or iron, or the corresponding alums. Dilute acid solutions, e.g. phosphoric acid or nitric acid (10 per cent), may be used to remove the resist after etching. Phosphoric acid may be added to the iron chloride etching solution. The resist is covered with a varnish or resin solution before etching.
