369,022. Swivelling pipe joints. NORSEN SYNDICATE, Ltd., 90, Pilgrim Street, Newcastle-on-Tyne, and NICHOLSON, J., 5, Oakdale Terrace, Chester-le- Street, Co. Durham. April 7, 1931, No. 10237. [Classes 99 (i) and 99 (ii).] In a swivelling pipe joint particularly for the hollow spindles of hose reels, a number of packing rings b, c, d are sunk into grooves in the spindle a, and a washer h is compressed between a split ring e, located between the rings c, d, and an internal shoulder on the reel hub g, by a gland nut f screwing into the hub. A thrust collar or locking ring k is arranged between the bracket m and the boss n of the reel. The arrangement of parts may be reversed, the boss g being arranged within the spindle instead of over it, as shown. Specification 230,949, [Class 99 (ii), Pipes, tubes, &c.]. is referred to.
