Abstract

518,754. Pipe couplings. SILENTBLOC, Ltd., and JELLEY, S. W. Sept. 5, 1938, No. 25901. [Class 99 (i)] A flexible pipe coupling comprises a flexible tube A each end of which has a deformable flange A<2> and a clamp adapted to compress the flange axially whilst preventing its radial expansion. Each clamp comprises a sleeve B and nut C having internal flanges B<1>, C<1>, with or without a ring E adjacent the nut. The flanges B<1>, C' or the ring E may have inclined faces to assist the contraction of the flange A<2> on to the pipe D. The tube A may be corrugated.
