Abstract

365,272. Safety razors. MORGAN, J. W., 80H, East Street; Manchester Square, London. Dec. 16, 1930, No. 37988. [Class 30.] In a safety razor wherein the blade 2 is transversely flexed by curved clamping members, the blade is supported on its underside near its cutting edges by a flexible reinforcing plate 1, which projects beyond the support 3 pressing on the underside of the blade. The plate 1 may be of similar material and thickness to that of the blade and may be fixed to either the blade or guard. In the preferred form a plate 1 is fixed at each side of the blade to enable it to be reversed. The plates are held together by eyelets 4 passed through the usual locating apertures, or by tongues or depressions in the side edges of the plates, fitting into or turned over the edges of the blade which may be notched to receive them. The plate may be fixed by an eyelet to a guard having a central projection 3. In some cases the top face of the guard may be recessed to accommodate the plate.
