Abstract
426,651. Safety razors. KIRMES, E., 5, Kantstrasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin. Oct. 7, 1933, Nos. 27693 and 27694. Convention dates, Oct. 8, 1932 and Dec. 21, 1932. [Class 30] The one or two blades is or are longitudinally flexed and is or are usable in either convex or concave manner by turning the razor-head about the spherically jointed handle 6, so that either side of the head is uppermost. The clamping-plates 1, 2, which are held together by a loose screw 3, may be cut from conical envelopes so as to flex the blade to different radii of curvature along each edge. In Fig. 10, two blades 4<a>, 4b lie on opposite sides of an intermediate guard-plate 15 toothed on both edges. In a single-bladed form, the blade is clamped directly between clamping-plates which are each toothed only on their opposite edges. Additional clamping-plates may be superposed on each toothed plate. In Figs. 7 and 8, the clamping-plates 1, 2 carry separate dovetailed guarding-edges 9 or 12 attachable to either side. The ball- and-socket jointed handle is set in the desired position by a screw-plunger 7. The blades are of the usual three-hole type. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to British Specification 274,013, [Class 30], and U.S.A. Specification 1,821,825.
