Abstract
350,721. Adjustable chairs. LANDIS & GYR SOC. ANON., 1, Hofstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. June 7, 1930, No. 17752. Convention date, July 12, 1929. [Class 52 (ii).] A vertically adjustable chair comprises a seatsupporting stem 3, notched at 5 and slidable within a tubular member 2 having a guideway 6 with lower recess 10, and a spring-actuated detent member 9 engageable with the notches 5 and the recess 10. The detent may be in the form of a roller, secured and actuated by the helical spring 13. The seat can be raised merely by lifting, but to lower the seat it is first raised slightly, and turned through about 90‹ to free the member 9 from the slots and recess, Fig. 3, then lowered and finally turned back through 90‹.
