Abstract
350,656. Machinery guards. BIDDULPH, A., of Biddulph & Co., Lingard Street, Hulme, Manchester. April 17, 1930, No. 12131. Grant of Patent opposed. [Class 80 (iv).] A guard for the revolving and reciprocating parts of a meat- or breadslicing machine comprises a base C, cast integral with or bolted to the top of machine frame D, two side members, one of which is shown at E1, rigidly attached to the base C or cast integral with the machine frame, and a front panel F which extends the whole width of the machine and, as shown, is hinged at its lower edge to lugs on the side members. The panel is held in the upright guarding position by finger-lifted spring plungers B engaging lugs on the side members. The panel F may, instead of being hinged, be removable bodily and be held in position by spring-loaded ball and plunger fasteners. The parts may be decorativelv formed.
