Abstract
349,072. Ship construction. SMITH, D., of Arnesen, Christenen & Smith, Sjofartsbygningen, Oslo, Norway. Feb. 10, 1930, No. 4513. [Class 113 (ii).] Ships, particularly tank vessels, having three or more longitudinal bulkheads b, c have the transverse bulkheads d disposed so that the resulting compartments are two or more times as long as they are broad in plan. In the three-line bulkhead vessel shown, the wing bulkheads are carried forward to the collision bulkhead j and may be carried into the engine room aft. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 21443/92, [Class 113, Ships &c., Div. I].
