Skein-holders and swifts.-A swift of adjustable diameter has arms c, Figs. 1 and 3, pivoted in the flanges b, b<1> of a hub a, and has metal flanges d, d<1> on a shaft g of square cross-section, rims e on the flanges having openings which engage the arms c. The flanges, when turned orient the arms to vary the swift diameter. The shaft g also carries a boss k fixed to the metal flange d<1> and a boss connected with the flange b .of the hub, which is preferably of wood, by pins working through arcuate slots in the flange d, the assembly being clamped by a nut o, adjustment being effected by slackening this nut and turning one boss relative to the other.
