Reservoirs in axle-boxes.-In an axle-box 1, a chamber 3, into which a transfer device (not shown) dips, communicates by a hole 5 in a partition 2 with a lubricant container 4 closed to the journal 7 except for one or more slot-like openings 8, parallel to the axis of the journal in an arched cover 6. The cover is inclined towards a dust-pocket 9.
