[Class 12 (i).] A device for preventing oil from escaping from axle bearings of railway vehicles having a dustprotection device 5 located in a chamber 4, consists of a baffle 6 having an inner surface inclined towards the interior of the bearing and forming the opening through which the axle projects, an oil-throwing edge 7 on the axle encircled by the baffle 6, and one or more oil-throwing edges 8, 9, on the axle and located in front of the baffle 6.
