Abstract

326,554. Newns, E. J. Dec. 17, 1928. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Opening tops. - In road vehicles having apertures in the roof closable. by a slidable panel the guiding means for the side edges of the panel consists of channel members so disposed as to trap any water in combination with pipes communicating with the channels to discharge the water externally of the body. The guiding means is formed in a roof frame which is let into the roof and is surrounded by a rubber strip b. The frame comprises channel or box shaped side members e, a front channel member f and a rear angle member d. The sliding panel g is provided with side channel members i projecting into the members e, a front plate i with a rubber packing ring k and a rear hook shaped plate l adapted to engage with a similar plate c. A projecting metal strip h is provided on the sliding panel and pipes m lead water away to the exterior of the vehicle.
