Abstract
329,171. Tasker, H. May 18, 1929. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Hoods.-Road vehicles having fixed rigid tops with a closable aperture therein are provided with a hatch the rear end of which slides in guides on the fixed roof and the front end of which is carried by arms which are pivoted to the fixed sides the arms being prolonged to carry the peak thereby increasing the roof opening. The hatch comprises a framework A pivoted at the rear end to a slide &c. L adapted to slide in guides R on The fixed roof. The front end is carried by a pair of arms B which swing about their ends E and carry the hatch into its open position. The arms are extended to carry the peak C. a flexible covering secured to the hatch being extended and connected to the peak C. The ends E of the arms B may be adapted to be fixed adjustably in guides S to vary the roof opening. A pin G on the hatch may engage with notches M, N<1>, N<2> to secure the hatch in various positions while a catch or bolt F is provided to lock it in its closed position.
