Abstract
317,223. Ball, F. L., Moulton, F., Rodwell, F. J., and Lead Wool Co., Ltd. Aug. 7, 1928. Spigot-and-socket joints held by cement.-In a spigot-and-socket joint for pipes 11, 12 the end of the spigot pipe 12 is positioned concentrically within the socket 15 of the pipe 11, prior to jointing by cement, mortar &c. 17, by a rubber &c. ring 13 thereon. The ring 13 is introduced into the socket with the spigot member and is rammed to the bottom thereof, and is preferably followed by a ring 16 of tarred gaskin. A second rubber ring 14 may be employed as shown to retain the cement in place until set. Specifications 6903/96 and 6835/03 are referred to.
