Abstract

256,525. Wood, H. C. ivlarch 29, 1926. Spigot-and-socket joints held by cement.-The spigot and socket ends 1, 2 respectively of two pipes are concentrically spaced prior to jointing by means of a ring 3 which is adapted to be adjusted or contracted so as to fit the annular space 4 between the two pipe ends. The ring is preferably made from a length of wire looped at its ends, and is corrugated or crimped to provide spacing projections 6. The ring also serves as a reinforcement to the joint.
