Abstract

313,068. Salthouse, E. March 5, 1928. Holders for sliding windows, sliding doors, and the like comprise a lever arm 2 pivoted in a trough member 1 secured to a sash &c. 9 and carrying at its free end an eccentrically pivoted roller 4. The arm is, urged towards the horizontal position by a spring 7 but is normally held raised from that position by contact of the roller with an upright portion of the other sash 10, or with a protecting strip of fibre, rough. surfaced metal &c. carried thereby. The lever arm yields during the closing movement of the window but holds the window against opening movement with a friction grip which is increased by rotational movement of the roller. Downward movement of the lever is limited by a stop 6 and upward movement may be prevented by insertion of a pin 11 through holes in the sides of the trough 1.
