Abstract
337,998. Daly, T., Mitchell, J., and Mitchell, Russell, & Co., Ltd. Nov. 16, 1929. Catches yielding to pull and pressure.-A catch for doors and gates particularly suitable for oven or other heavy doors comprises a pivoted jawed member 6 adapted to be urged to its extreme positions by a spring 8 acting through a lever 5 pivoted at 7 and bearing against a projection on member 6. When the door 9 is open member 6 occupies the dotted-line position. On closing the door, a projection 11 fixed thereon engages jaw 6<b> and throws member 6 clockwise to the full-line position in which jaw 6<a> bears against projection 11 under spring action and holds the door closed. Member 6 is pivoted at 12 between lugs on a casing 4 which encloses the spring &c. and is secured by a single screw 13 in a recess in the oven front or door frame 10.
