Abstract
290,714. Davies, J. E. Feb. 15, 1927. Holding tools.-A device for manipulating screws and small tools such as bradawls, screwdrivers, gimlets, files, scribers, &c. in positions of difficult accessibility, comprises a wire b of half-round section which is doubled on itself to constitute forceps, the jaws being closed by a sliding ring e. The jaws are axially recessed at c and transversely notched at d to receive a screwhead, or a bradawl &c. shank having a laterally projecting driving pin. The forceps may be left free at their junction end, or may be fitted into a handle, which may be hollow to accommodate small tools not in use. The device may be lengthened by means of an extension tube or bar carrying the handle at one end and the forceps at the other. The whole device may be encased in or constructed of an insulating material such as that sold under the registered Trade Mark " Bakelite. "
