Digester and like covers.-A cover d for an autoclave or similar vessel is of oval shape and seats internally against the rim of a flange c of U-section, so that the opening is of the same width as that of the body a. In a modification, Fig. 4, the flange c may be bolted to the flange h of an existing vessel, and in another form the flange c may be replaced by a single annular plate projecting slightly inwards, the opening in that case being of slightly smaller diameter.
