Packing.-A packing-ring 5 for a plug-cock or like valve is carried by a screwed ring 2 the inner part of which is extended at 8 so as, when screwed down to apply pressure directly to the plug 7. The ring 5 seals the joint between the edges of the plug and casing. The screwed plug 3 is either integral with or attached to the valve body.
