Shelves.-In a stand of the kind which supports leaves inter-connected by parallel linkages so that they may occupy superimposed positions or an edge-to-edge position in which they constitute a table, as described, for example. in Specifications 1646/99, and 7536/00. [Class 3, Advertising &c.], two leaves only are provided and these are so arranged that when they are swung to the table position a portion of each leaf will he directly over the supporting stand. The stand comprises a rigid frame formed by uprights 10 - - 13 and cross-bars 14 - - 16. Two leaves 18, 19 each of the same width and length as the corresponding dimensions of the stand are interconnected by parallel pivoted links 20, each link being pivoted mid-way of its length to a corner of the stand. By this arrangement, in the table position one half of each leaf lies above and is directly supported by the stand. Means for locking the leaves in either of their two positions comprises two bolts 24, Fig. 3, arranged beneath the lower leaf 18 and pressed by springs 25 to protrude beyond the ends of the leaf. In the superimposed position the bolts engage apertures in the legs 10, 13 and in the table position apertures 28 in the links 20. The bolts are retracted by links 32, 33 and a hand-lever 29.
