Shelves.-In a stand of the kind which supports sleeves interconnected by parallel linkage so that they may occupy superimposed positions or an edge-to-edge position in which they constitute a table, as described for example in Specifications 1646/99, and 7536/00, [Class 3. Advertising &c.]. the supporting uprights of the stand are so coupled that they can be collapsed towards one another. As shown, the stand comprises legs or uprights 10 - - 13 of which the pairs 10, 11 and 12, 13 are connected by rigid bars 14, 15. The end pairs 10, 12 and 11, 13 are coupled by parallel pivoted bars 16, 17 so that they can be collapsed, and are held in service position by pairs of knuchle-jointed straps 18. Two leaves 20, 21, each corresponding in dimensions to the frame 10 - - 13, are interconnected by parallel pivoted links 22. 23 each pivoted midway of its length to the bars 17 by pivots 44 parallel to, or coincident with, the pivots 24 of the bars 17. By this arrangement, in the table position of the leaves, one half of each leaf lies over the stand. The leaves are preferably brought to the table position before the stand is collapsed. Means for locking the leaves in either of their two positions comprises two bolts 25, Fig. 4, arranged beneath the lower leaf and pressed by springs 26 to protrude beyond the ends of the leaf. In the superimposed position the bolts engage apertures in the legs 12, 13 and in the table position, Fig. 4, apertures 28 in the links 22. 23.
