Abstract

Corsets; brassiÞres. - An elastic corset and brassiÞre comprises zones A, B, C, of different elasticity, the sheath being woven in one piece and to shape and the weaving being carried out to provide a garment so arranged that the pressure on the different parts of the body varies. The part of the garment A adapted to sustain the abdomen is less flexible than the part B supporting the breasts, which flexibility may be varied according to the size of the breasts by giving more or less spacing to the indiarubber or like elastic threads during the weaving operation. The part C of the garment is constructed like the part B, or may be be entirely unprovided with elastic threads except at the upper edge, at which point some of the elastic threads may be retained to ensure a close fit. The garment may be used for pregnancy, and in this case it may have two laced portions at the front. Specifications 208,288 and 236,510 are referred to.
