Feeding openers &c. - Pneumatic apparatus for conveying fibres from a bale breaker &c. to stack mixings in which a series of condensers is connected by a system of pipes and arranged so that any individual condenser may be cut out of action and the fibre passed by it comprises a number of condensers a', Fig. 2 connected by side pipes m<2> to a main pipe m<1> of uniform diameter. Double control valves d, e are provided in the pipes m<2>, m<1> to close the pipe m<2> and open the way through the pipe m<1> and so cut out the condenser completely, or to open the pipe m<2> and close the pipe m<1> and so put the condenser in action. The valves are operated by a bell crank lever g operated by a lever j through a rod i, or by suitable hanging chains. The condensers are driven by pulleys c and each is provided with a stripping-roller b with flexible flaps which will seal the outlet to the mixing bin when the condenser is not in action. The final condenser of the series may be connected directly to the main pipe, the valves being omitted, so that the air is exhausted through the condenser, and the fibres collected thereon and prevented from travelling to the fan when none of the earlier condensers are operating. A number of rods, plates &c. may as an alternative be placed across the main pipe intermediate the valves of the last condenser to collect the fibres.
