Abstract

237,977. Bunn, C. W. May 6, 1924. Sliding bolts. - Relates to vehicle seats slidable upon rails and capable of being locked in adjusted position by a bolt engaging holes in a bar secured to the floor beneath the seat. According to the invention a locking bolt 21, with a compression spring 25, is mounted in a casing 23a on the front edge of the seat 1, and carries a handle 30 recessed to fit over the top of the casing. A diametrical bar 32 in the recessed part 31 of the handle fits in a slot in the casing when the bolt is engaged, and when out of engagement is set across the slot by rotating the bolt. In a modification the bolt holes 11 are made in one of the seat rails 5 instead of in the central bar 10.
