Seats and seat backs, arrangement and disposition of.-Seats convertible into tables in motor vehicles have the whole or part of the front seat back 1 independent of the seat proper and pivoted at its upper edge 3 to the seat frame 2 or vehicle body or to a frame on the body, so that on lifting the lower edge of the back backwards and upwards, a table top 5 is formed when horizontal. Folding legs or toggle action stretcher links 6 or sliding bolts engaging the body hold the top in position. The seat may slide forward in the vehicle and a spring-pressed pin 13 on the seat may be engaged by a hand lever 14 in holes 15 in a plate 16 on the body.
