Abstract

235,724. Sharples, R. G., and Wilbraham, C. July 1, 1924. Driving - arrangements. - The delivery rollers of warp pirning and winding machines are driven through a friction clutch 14 adapted to slip and preferably adjusted so that it is incapable of driving the rollers apart from the assistance of the pull exerted by the spindles on the yarn. The clutch preferably consists of a felt covered disc, and is arranged between a sprocket wheel 11 driven from a shaft 9 and a sprocket wheel 12 geared with the rollers. Ball thrust-rings 19, 20 engage the bosses of the wheels, and the clutch is adjusted through a spring 18 by a nut 17. The clutch may be automatically adjusted by a lever operated by the building- motion lever.
