Abstract

289,336. Williamson, W. H. Sept. 29, 1927. Winding-machines; spindle-driving apparatus. -In yarn and like winding-frames the spindles H are carried by reel-like members E, which are frictionally driven by intermediate members F actuated by discs D on a shaft C, and are mounted on stationary stub shafts G recessed to receive lubricant. Balls J being preferably employed to engage flanges E<1> of the members E. The discs D are splined on the shaft against the action of a spring, and the members F are supported by balls engaging recesses in their bosses and cups in the supports.
