Abstract
235,019. Broadley, J. R. July 2, 1924. Rotary sieves are resiliently mounted on a rotatable driving frame and means are provided for vibrating the sieves consisting of toothed or serrated rings thereon adapted to contact with adjustably fixed toothed wheels mounted on a stationary part of the machine. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the sieve o consists of perforated plates or wire mesh covering a frame comprising rings 1, l<1> and longitudinal members n. The sieve is supported by springs j on a driving frame comprising end members a, c and longitudinal members f preferably covered with a screen of coarse mesh. The member a has a trunnion bearing and the member e has a tyre ring h which runs on rollers i. The rings l, l<1> are formed with serrations m, m<1> and engage with serrated wheels q, q<1> carried by forked supports s, s<1> mounted adjustably by means of a screw-threaded nut or, stud x, x' in a stationary part of the apparatus. In a modification, the driving frame may form an extension of the machine in connection with which the sieve is. used such as the machine for grinding ores described in Specifications 116,583 and 152,724, [both in Class 59, Grinding, crushing, &c.], or a mixing, calcining, drying, or digesting machine.
