Abstract

Materials supported on endless conveyers.-For treatment with liquids, yarns and masses of fibres, such as wool, are supported between a pair of carrier bands or tapes 1, 2 passing over a plurality of single rollers 3, 4 immersed in liquid; by arranging these rollers so that the adjacent sections of the bands form obtuse angles one with the other, or by the use of tapes instead of a band the desired light pressure treatment of the materials when passing over the rollers is obtained. A pair of squeezing-rollere 6 may be placed at the entry of the vat, and another pair 7 at the discharge end; to prevent lapping of the fibre round the latter of these squeezing rollers, the lower band 2 is extended by rollers 8 so as to obviate an acute angle in the bond. The lower band is then brought back through the vat in order to agitate the liquor. The rollers 3, 4 are supported inside the vat by plain socket bushes 11 at one side and at the other by open bushes 12 closed by pins 13.
