187,960. Compagnie d'Applications. MÚcaniques. Oct. 29, 1921, [Convention date]. Crank shafts.-Connecting-rod big ends are provided externally with rigid or other ball or roller bearings of the radial type running in cupextensions of the crank cheeks, the crank shaft being in sections. As shown, the crank cheeks 3 are united by a bolt 6 passing freely through a tubular big end 7 in one piece with a connecting- rod 1. Roller bearings 11, provided with cages 12, run in races 9. 14 secured respectively by nuts 10, 15 on the big end and in cups 5 integral with the crank cheeks 3. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), comprises also a big-end with external plain bearings. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
