183,067. Imrie, H., (Reece-Hilton Inc.). Sept. 14, 1921. Cylinders; pistons; piston packing.-In a motor-car pump the cylinder body 1 and cover 4 are of pressed sheet metal. A strap 26 secured to the bottom of the cylinder is pivoted on a clamp 29 on the running board, and extensions 22 of a second clamp are pivoted on a pin 25 in the cover. The link 15, to which the pumpoperating lever is pivoted, is also mounted on the pin 25. The piston consists of a wood block 53, saturated with lubricant, and end plates 50, 54 with notched peripheries. The cup-leather packing 52 is distended by a spring 57 and is moistened by the lubricant in the block 53.
