Abstract
361,030. Rotary engines and pumps. TAMURA, G., 34, Mikuni-Hommachi, Higashiyodo-kawa-Ku, Osaka, Japan. Sept. 8, 1930, No. 26778. [Class 110 (ii).] In a rotary engine or pump of the kind in which a piston drum 5, mounted on a crank-shaft 6 so as to roll round the inner surface of a fixed casing 1a, carries a plate 10 adapted to slide in a slot 4 in a rocking cylinder 3, irregularity in running due to pressure in the slot 4 is prevented by providing the plate 10 with two passages 17, 18, Fig. 1, which are fitted with oppositely acting non-return valves 19, 21 and connect the slot 4 with the suction and compression spaces 11, 12 respectively. The ends of the drum 5 and the side edges of the plate 10 are recessed to receive packing-strips 33, 34, 45, 46 which are pressed outwardly against the walls of the casing by springs 29 .. 32 and 41 .. 44.
