Abstract
235,676. Greenwood, R. April 8, 1924. Pistons.-A piston, particularly applicable for an internal-combustion engine, comprises two parts a, b separated by a spring g, which is sufficiently strong to withstand the force of the compression stroke, but yields to the explosion pressure. A pin c, which is screwed into the part a, slides in a guide e in the part b. Preferably a light spring h is interposed between a flange on the pin c and the part b, and, preferably, the crown of the part b is formed with perforations l.
