189,945. Spooner, W. W. Oct. 24, 1921. Cylinders.-A fluid-pressure engine cylinder is put into communication with a clearance space 6 by a valve 2 opening against spring and atmospheric pressure. A spring-controlled auxiliary valve 5 is mounted in the valve 2 and opens to the cylinder when the pressure in the space 6 is excessive.
