Lids and covers.-The packing-case described in the parent Specification in which bands D<1> overlap each other under a securing screw cap F, is modified by tapering the inner ends of the bands so that they abut against each other, and leave a space D<3> through which the securing-bolt passes, thus reducing the thickness of the joint and avoiding the necessity of lifting the bands in a particular order when opening the case.
