Stoppers, screw; sealing- devices for closures other than corks and plug stoppers. - A screw closure member for petrol cans &c. and of the type fastened by wire &c. coupled to the nozzle and engaging a perforated ring encircling the closure member, has a sealing leather or other washer encircling the part of the closure which is screwed into the nozzle &c. A stopper for a petrol can has an externally-screwed depending part a, Fig. 3, surrounded by a leather washer c. An outer flange b, Figs. 1 and 3, is perforated with a series of holes d, one of which always registers approximately with a perforated lug on the receptacle neck and facilitates the application of the usual sealing-wire.
