Screw stoppers formed to aid withdrawal; sealing-devices for stoppers; packing-discs and rings for stoppers. - In a closure for hermetically sealing containers a metal capsule 2, Fig. 2, is crimped around the reduced beaded edge of the outlet member 1 and the whole is covered by a screw-cap 4 with a polygonal head. In a modification, the cap and outlet member are formed of sheet metal. As shown in Fig. 6, the outlet member 1 and screwed plug stopper 5 are formed with external flanges 18, 17 which are sealed together by crimping a flanged ring 10 beneath the flange 18. When the sealing ring 10 is applied to a screwed cap stopper, the flanges are formed at the lower ends of the screw-threads. To ensure liquid-tight joints, packing-discs or washers are used which may be of rubber held in an annular space formed by doubling over the edge of a metal disc or ring to the shape of a U.
