Abstract

1398979 Photographic pyrazolotriazole magenta colour couplers KODAK Ltd 31 Aug 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 57611/71 Heading G2C [Also in Division C2] Pyrazolotriazoles of Formula I or Formula II in which R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are each optionally substituted alkyl groups or optionally substituted aryl groups, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are hydrogen or a group which splits off during colour development and R<SP>6</SP> and R<SP>7</SP> are groups of formula =CH-R<SP>8</SP> which splits off during colour development and in which R<SP>8</SP> is an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group, are used as magenta colour couplers in photographic materials and processes. They may be used in colour developing compositions comprising a photographic silver halide colour developing agent and a magenta colour coupler having one of the above formulae. They may also be incorporated in light-sensitive photographic materials comprising a support bearing at least a silver halide emulsion layer containing the magenta colour coupler in the emulsion layer or in a layer adjacent thereto.
