Abstract

1308456 Containers IEC-HOLDEN Ltd 29 May 1970 [5 June 1969] 28560/69 Heading B8P A container comprises end walls 20, (22) and a side frame pivoted to a bottom platform, and a side wall 16 pivoted to the side frame. The side frame comprises corner posts 30 and a rod 28 on which the side wall 16 and a top wall 24 are hinged. The end walls have channel rails 62 to engage the corner posts when the container is erected, with a bolt having a handle 66 locking each rail to a corner post. The side wall 16 can be moved upwards with respect to the rod 28, when the top wall 24 is open, to disengage pins from apertures in the bottom platform to permit pivoting of the side wall. The top wall 24 has apertures positioned to receive the handles 66 when the bolts are shut. There may be a single top wall, or a pair of walls 24, 26 as shown with lugs 92 on the wall 24 overlapping a flange 90 of the wall 26 and supporting locking rods 96 receivable in apertures in stacking lugs 102 on the end walls. The other side wall may be similar to the side wall 16 or may be pivoted to the platform. The walls can be collapsed on to and parallel to the bottom platform with stacking lugs on the inside surface of the top wall 26 protruding through apertures 122 in the end walls.
