Abstract

1348022 Collapsible containers R T BLANCHARD 21 May 1971 [4 June 1970] 16168/71 Heading B8P A collapsible and stackable container 10 may comprise end panels 12, 14 which have J-shaped channels (26, 28, Fig. 3) secured thereto for co-operating with L-shaped hook portions 46, 48, 46<SP>1</SP>, 48<SP>1</SP> on the side walls 16, 18 and which are provided with L-shaped members 38, 43 for slidably receiving the container top 20 and bottom 22. The hook portions may be integral with the side walls or be secured thereto. The channels 26, 28, and hook portions 46, 48, 46<SP>1</SP>, 48<SP>1</SP> may be formed of extruded metal or plastics material. The side walls 16, 18 may comprise spaced slats (50-56, Figs. 7, 8) whose hook portions are provided with ribs (60, Fig. 8) for co-operating with grooves (58) in the end panel channels to support the slats. Ties may be used to secure the top 20 in place.
