Abstract

1279245 Collapsible containers R H HEATH 18 Nov 1969 [13 Sept 1968] 43730/68 Heading B8P A collapsible container comprises four side walls 2, 3, 4, 5 pivotally connected by means of complementary interengaging portions, and a base member 6 connected to the side walls. The interengaging portions may be integral with the side members and comprise clamp portions 7 of approximately semicircular cross-section and bar portions 8 of circular cross-section. The base member 6 may be rigidly attached to all of the side members (as shown) by means of bar portions 9 of circular cross-section and clamp portions 10 of semicircular cross-section, or may be pivotally attached to the side members 4, 5 (Fig. 2, not shown), by means ofinterengaging bar and clamp portions similar to those connecting the side members. A rigidly or pivotally connected lid may be provided. The base member may comprise two or more pivotally connected portions to facilitate storage when the container is collapsed. Internal partitions (11, 12) fitting into slots (13, 14)in the side members and lid may be provided. The container may be of synthetic plastics material, pressed fibreboard, or plastics coated fibreboard.
