Abstract

127,572. Garnier, L. May 28, 1918, [Convention date]. Vacuum apparatus.-Vacuum fuel-feed apparatus comprises a vessel divided into upper and lower compartments R, R' separated. by a flap valve H, the lower compartment communicating at V with the carburettor float chamber, and the upper through B with the main fuel tank and through an orifice D and pipe A with the engine induction pipe. The orifice D is formed in the wall of a tube T carried by a float F, the tube carrying a valve P for closing the passage A<1> and being provided in its wall with a second orifice 0 for registering, when the float is raised, with an aperture O<1> to admit atmospheric pressure to the compartment R. The tube is prevented from rotating by a pin N and slot M. The compartment R' is open to the atmosphere at L.
