Abstract

448,767. Spray carburetters. NAVROTZKY, N. DE, 23, Rue Roussel, Paris. Sept. 10, 1934, No. 26007. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, March 9, 1935]. [Class 7 (iii)] Air drawn by suction through vents 3 into the upper part of a fuel tank 1, and fuel vapours are fed through a pipe 9 containing a valve 11 to the inlet manifold or to the air inlet of a carburetter 6. The pipe contains a valve which opens to prevent damage from backfiring and the fuel in the tank is stirred by paddle wheels or a worm rotated by the suction or exhaust of the engine or by bubbling The vapour is preferably admitted to the air intake through a T-shaped fitting which is provided with separate valves or a single valve to control the air and fuel vapour. The air entering the tank may pass over the upper part of concentric metallic gauges which dip into the fuel and are separated by capillary and absorbent material.
