519,774. Spray carburetters. HOFMANN,. H., and SIEBER, J. Aug. 9, 1938, No. 23489. [Class 7 (iii)] Liquid-fuel is supplied from the float-chamber 10 to the air-conduit 7 by three passages. By the conduit 11 and needle valve 14 it reaches the cruciform nozzle 9 communicating by a plurality of openings with the air-stream through the venturi 8. By the conduit 12 it is fed to the vicinity of the throttle 4 during idling. At starting a valve 18 is opened to permit fuel-flow, through the conduit 13 and opening 19. Additional air may be supplied to the fuel in the conduit 11 through apertures 20. Angular adjustment of the body 1 relative to the float chamber 10 is permitted by forming annular passages 26, 27 in the adjoining surfaces. A heater 28 may be attached, or the air may be passed through a heater attached to the exhaust pipe.
