The upper seat section 1 is hinged to the lower seat section 2 and swing back thereupon and the back section 3 is moved into the upright position about pivots 23 of links 21, the combined seat sections sliding to the left to a stop 27. Legs 4, 5 are folded flat by linkage 11, 13. A bed clothes retainer 32 is rearwardly folded anticlockwise to retain the bedclothes which are accommodated in facing wells in sections 1 and 2. A tension spring (not shown) may help counterbalance the unfolding movement and thus assist the folding up.
