Class 52(2) The folding mattress-supporting frame of a bed settee consists of four sections 20, 41, 45, 55 hinged end to end, the section 20, which forms the settee back, having rigidly connected legs 27, the frame bar 41 and a link 40 being pivoted at one end to a leg 27 and at the other to the section 45 which is pivoted at 46 on the settee frame 10. The inner frame section is supported by folding legs 58 linked by a bar 60 to the section 45. On swinging the sections 20, 41 upwardly the section 45 is rotated to lie in the plane of the front rail 18 of the settee frame and the legs 58 are automatically folded and the section 55 lowered. A pivoted gravity catch 28 holds the parts in folded position and can be released by a pull-strap 37 and a counterbalancing spring 24 assists folding and unfolding. A two-way hydraulic ram can be connected between the section 41 and the settee frame 10 for power actuation.
