Abstract

1,145,873. Pistons. TATRA, NARODNI PODNIK. 18 April, 1966, No. 16819/66. Heading F2T. A piston for an internal-combustion engine is provided on each side of the gudgeon pin axis with a T-slot in the piston skirt comprising a transverse slot 1 and an inclined longitudinal slot 7 and internal circumferential ribs 8 which extend substantially at the level of the transverse slot 1 from the gudgeon-pin bosses to the proximity of the longitudinal slot 7 where they terminate, the radial thickness of the ribs 8 decreasing towards the slot 7. The slots 7 may be parallel to one another as in Fig. 1 or oppositely inclined, Fig. 3 (not shown). Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 908,374.
